Additional Support for Our Workers

Reaching Out is not just a business, it is a community organization. Our commitment to our workers extends beyond fair trade.

• We have invested in a “Reaching Out Outreach Program” to give further encouragement and support to home-based producers with disAbilities. The program has improved the quality of products produced, and helps home-based producers keep up with new trends in the handicraft sector.
  
  
• We have provided free vocational training in a friendly, supportive environment for more than 30 local people with disabilities.
  
  
• We assist trainees in finding suitable positions of employment, either within Reaching Out or elsewhere. Those employed by Reaching Out continue to receive further on-the-job training.

We provide many supportive services to our  producers: advance payments for producers lacking capital personal visits to home-based producers meal allowance for workshop employees advice on product design and development networking and relationship building technical training (e.g. computing) financial management assistance free publications, advertising and marketing
